Brian Walsh

You probably watch TV every day, and on this week’s program we get to go behind the scenes and chat with one of Australian television’s biggest influencers.

Brian Walsh is the Executive Director of Television at Foxtel, where he has worked for the last twenty years.

Brian originally started studying business at the University of Technology Sydney, but jumped at the chance to study communications when the degree began in the 1970s.

It was a decision that shocked his parents, who thought that media was not a stable industry. Brian has most definitely proved them wrong, and has worked at the ABC, 2SM, Channel 10 as well as Foxtel.

Brian has worked at Foxtel since its inception, and was the second person on the payroll when the company started. He is now the man behind what we see on TV, helping launch great Australian dramas like Love My Way and Wentworth.
