Gayle in Sydney Australia, gets stuck into some more BRIGITTE FONTAINE, introduces us to the First Sounds project being put together by The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) and First Nations Media Australia (FNMA) to get more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists heard across Australian radio airwaves, introduces us to a 25year female composer and saxophonist who is part of the recent resurge of jazz-influenced sounds in the UK, plays us some Mingus including a track from Joni Mitchell’s recording she did with him 2 months before he died, introduces Ugandan multi-instrumentalist songwriter, innovator and educator whose music is about social and global issues including diversity, economic development and empowerment, and, and, and…… yep… you’ll just have to listen.
