Plastic Fantastic takes the controls for this episode of MFB, playing a wonderfully eclectic set of sunset beauties. It’s time to sit back and chillout with a glass of whatever helps you find peace and tranquility.

Plastic Fantastic is the alias of Oslo/Norway-based DJ and producer John Clements. Originally formed as a duo with Eirik Wulff-Engh in 2012, Eirik decided to step away from the partnership in 2020 leaving John to continue Plastic Fantastic as a solo project.

The duo’s first record release was in November 2014 with ‘Here Comes The Sun’, on Spanish label Our Nights Recordings.

A fruitful collaboration with Sally Rodgers from A Man Called Adam in 2017 resulted in ‘Give The Light Back To The Night’. Released exclusively on vinyl on Andy Pye’s Balearic Social Records.

The opus ‘Reflections Of The Sun’ was released in 2019 on NuNorthern Soul. The EP, which took almost five years to complete, was released under their new Mirage alias and featured two longer pieces. The track ‘Endless Ocean’ from the EP appeared on the 12″ vinyl Summer Selections One, released in May 2019. The record also featured brand new tracks from Nick J Smith and Bonnie & Klein. The record was given much love and support, in particularly from Chris Coco (Melodica) and David Pickering (One Million Sunsets Radio Show), and it became something of a sunset staple at La Torre in Ibiza.

Released in November 2022 on French label Golden Forest Records, ‘Dusk’ was the very last record that John and Eirik produced and collaborated on together. Recorded between May 2020 and June 2021, this epic masterpiece is arguably the duo’s finest work, with reviewers drawing parallels to Tangerine Dream and The Future Sound Of London. The new EP also features a spectacular remix by legendary Norwegian DJ and producer Rune Lindbæk. Feedback on the record was overwhelmingly positive with words of praise coming from Ryan Bishop (Dream Chimney), Chris Coco, Coyote, Mike Salta (Music For Dreams) and many others.

Predominantly a studio project, Plastic Fantastic has been known to play live on occasion and frequently guests on select radio shows and podcasts around the globe. Plastic Fantastic also curates the audio-video mix series The Sunrise Sessions, in cooperation with The Chill Out Tent.
