The Band Next Door :: 10:00pm 24th May 2018
Tonight on The Band Next Door on 2SER, we’re going to be hearing from Matt Blackman of Sydney based outfit PURPLENE,
who bowed out at their creative peak with 2004’s self titled album. Largely lost over the years, the LP is being re-issued by Hobbledehoy Record Co and their short lived reunion tour finishes tomorrow night at The Factory Theatre
He talks about his time growing up in Newcastle, the onset of ’emo’, as well as what pushed them into creating sweeping harmonious melodies in the post-grunge era.
There’s also plenty of alternative Australiana coming your way tonight with a handful of tracks from the new Dinosaur City Recordscompilation.
Spacial frequencies from All India Radio
Garage fuzz from Eat-Man
Decaying pop from Broken Mountain.
Plenty of dark and coldwave thanks to BURA BURA and Rising Damp.
As well as a cacophany from Kurushimi
Not to mention the latest from locals the high ceilings, OM Collective & Busy Tones (FKA Abigail & Daisy)
All that and more tonight from 10pm.
Only on 2ser FM – Real Radio.
