The Evolving Popularity of Folk Music

Typically, if the term folk music was pinned on a song, it would be associated with older means to storytelling, roots of nationalism and traditional means of performance. Over the past decade, folk has become more experimental with audience inclusion and musical hybridity, blurring the lines of what currently defines the genre.
