Federal government axes wildlife disaster program

Today is World Wildlife Day, and the Australian government is marking the day by cutting funding to a wildlife disaster program implemented in response to the Black Summer Bushfires in 2020.

The program has assisted over 1100 community groups and councils against natural disasters over the last three years.
