Fees or Free: Why are Parents Paying So Much for Public Education?

How much are you paying for your child’s education? Research shows that parents are paying a billion dollars in fees for public schooling. Some schools invoiced parents for excessive fees, as much as fifteen-hundred dollars per term in one case. It’s a big worry for parents, especially those struggling to cover costs! They can be paying for stuff like subjects, excursions, subscriptions for educational products, and even tissues.

The Daily spoke to Susie Boyd, President of the Parents and Citizens Federation of New South Wales, to talk about the costs of public education.
