Full Interview – 2017 Stella Prize Winner Heather Rose

The Stella Prize is an annual literary award celebrated Australian Women Writers.

In 2017 the winner is Heather Rose for her novel The Museum of Modern Love. The story takes us to New York’s Museum of Modern Art where, in 2010 performance artist Marina Abramovitch created a work entitled The Artist is Present. Rose weaves a tale of the many individuals who visited The Artist is Present to muse on the nature of art and life, and one man who must wrestle with his own art.

Andrew spoke with Heather Rose after her win and they explored what it is to be a successful, creatuive woman in a male dominated society, as well as what art means and why we must never stop discussing it.
