Gender Inequality In the Music Industry Remains Rife

In Australia, there has been a push towards reducing gender inequality in the workplace. However, women in the music industry are still experiencing overt gender biases. A recent study released by Berklee Institute of Music found that 78% of women in the industry felt that they were treated differently to their male counterparts. Sydney based songwriter, producer and singer Shirin Kalyani spoke with us about the gender biases lingering in the Sydney music scene.
