Global study to save Marine Megafauna from extinction

As nearly a third of the world’s marine megafauna face extinction, a new conservation project aims to reverse this trend via satellite tracking of the animal’s movement and behaviours.

Marine megafauna, like whales or sharks, traverse through vast oceans making it difficult for humans to find and protect the species.

With over 350 scientists from 50 different countries collaborating on the study, the results will provide conservation managers relevant information needed to save these marine animals.
