Government Proposes Extra $3.58 a Day to Jobseeker Payments

The Federal Government has announced that it will raise the flat rate of Jobseeker payments by just $50 a fortnight once the coronavirus pandemic supplement is gone. Thinking small, that’s just under $5 extra dollars a day. With people still unemployed and struggling to find more work, many anti-poverty advocates have seen this raise as a slap in the face.

To speak on the rate increase, The Daily’s Ruby Innes was joined by anti-poverty advocate and Australian Unemployed Workers Union member Jeremy Poxon.
