Helping Teenagers have a Healthier Relationship with Alcohol

Following last week’s story on a state survey from WA suggesting an increase with paramedics treating alcohol intoxication amongst teenagers, especially for young women. This week, a new study advised a 3 step plan that parents can apply, to develop a healthier relationship with alcohol for teenagers. It, surprisingly, suggests parents take a harder line when it comes to alcohol use.  

Although a couple of national surveys confirm that the alcohol consumption for 12-17 year olds are decreasing, alcohol affects four out of the top five causes of death amongst this age group.

Nic was joined with Behavioural Scientist from the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute, Jacqueline Bowden, to chat about the 3 step method.
