Hobart’s MONA Emerges from a Busy COVID Hibernation

In March this year MONA, the brilliant Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart, reluctantly shut its doors and turned off its lights.

To mangle an old movie line… In Covid, no one can hear you art.

And as Australia pats itself on the back amidst a smidgen of normality returning to our lives, we here at The Daily are quietly chuffed to hear one of the country’s top museums is soon to re-open.

Covid knocked galleries and museums for six – but on December 26… a very special event takes place. MONA is re-opening.

Joining us now is MONA’s Senior Curator Jarrod Rawlins, to share with us what we can look forward to seeing down South come December 26.
