Why do we shop more on a rainy day?

Why is it that on a rainy, cold day it’s just so much more tempting to indulge in some shopping? 

A recent study found that unpleasant weather conditions increase negative mood which in turn increases our consumption. That might not surprise you but the interesting part is that it strongly differs between genders.

To unpack the research, we were joined by Nitika Garg, Associate Professor at the School of Marketing at the University of New South Wales Business School.
