Incentives to Get Vaccinated – the Right Push?
Across the US, we are seeing governments and private organisations doling out cash rewards and lifting mask mandates could increase vaccine uptake. Some of these incentives include free donuts and beer, gift cards, prizes and even the promise of a university scholarship. Are these incentives really working in increasing vaccination rates, and if so is it something we need to introduce in Australia. We were joined by Meg Elkins, Senior Lecturer at School of Economics, Finance and Marketing and Behavioural Business Lab Member at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology to discuss the effectiveness of incentives to encourage vaccinationse.
