Indigenous Femicide: Deaths of Indigenous Women Worldwide

Indigenous women in Australia and abroad have been disappearing or dying at rates that far surpass the rest of the population. A new study has been launched by the Australian Research Council into tracking and understanding what they’re terming ‘femicide’ – or targeted genocide of Indigenous women.

Typically, the deaths and disappearances of these women have been consistently unreported and unremarked upon, considering their scale and consistency. Learn more about this study as part of the Deathscapes project here.
