How does the internet affect the mental health of adolescents?
How much time have you spent on the Internet today?
Did you use it at work, and have the luxury of switching off at home, or did you use it at work and well into the night at home?
For many school aged children, the Internet is both and educative tool as well as entertainment, so it can be hard to switch off – and it could be causing problems with young people’s mental health.
New research by the Telethon Kids Institute in Perth has found 4% of Aussie kids use the internet and game at problematic levels, and it is affecting their mental health.
