Interview with Matthias Glasner – director of “Dying”
Coming to Australia is a new German film which explores the purpose of art and how the confronting aspects of the mortality of parents leads to the querying of the purpose of life. Despite the title Dying is an energetic film that ploughs the fine-line between tragedy and comedy in its exploration of the dysfunction of modern relationships.
Stephen Hill talked to the film’s director Matthias Glasner about how parts of his life story influenced the script and how his love of music inspired the film.
Dying is screening at the German Film Festival which runs until May 21
