Journalism in the Digital Age

Fairfax announced cuts to 120 full-time editorial jobs last Thursday in consequence to its rapid decline in readership and revenue.

According to the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA), these cuts amount to one-quarter of the remaining editorial staff in Sydney and Melbourne newsrooms.

With the extreme shift from print to online, what will happen to newspaper mastheads such as The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age?

Hugh Martin joined Sam Baran to talk about the effects of the digital age on Australian journalism and what it means for the industry’s future.
