Land of the Fair Go, But the Rich Get Richer
Inequality is a problem all over the world, and we’re seeing it here in Australia. In fact, a report released by Oxfam ahead of the 2020 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland has found that the richest 1 percent of Australians have more than double the wealth of the entire bottom 50 percent of our population. That’s a real big gap! At a time when the bushfire crisis is still going strong, the need for funding and proper wealth distribution is an all time priority.
The Daily spoke to Lyn Morgain, Chief Executive of Oxfam Australia about economic inequality in Australia.
