World Theatre Day happened over the weekend – Friday, to be specific – and while the ongoing pandemic means we can’t leave our houses to watch live theatre, we can stock up on our knowledge of what we’re experiencing to help us appreciate a stage performance the next time we’re able to. The essential dramatic convention we’re looking at today is called ‘suspension of disbelief’.
