Mental Illness in Service People Returning To Civilian Life

Today is Anzac Day, a day we commemorate our Australian and New Zealand soldiers who have fought and died for their country. For today’s service men and women, it can be a tough transition back to civilian life after service, making rates of mental illness and suicide amongst ex-serving personnel higher than the average person.

Talking to us about what can be done to reduce mental illness and suicide in military members transitioning to civilian life is Dr Sanjiva Wijesinha, a General Practitioner and Clinical Associate Professor at Monash University.
