National Survey Reveals Worrying Statistics of Women’s Mental Health

The 2018 Women’s Health Survey spoke to 15,000 women from across Australia. Researchers found that whilst women are smoking less and exercising more, it also found that almost half of the women had been professionally diagnosed with depression or anxiety and two-thirds felt nervous or on edge nearly every day. This data paints a complex picture of the modern woman who is attempting to balance advancing her career whilst also raising a family. The Daily was joined by Chris Enright, the Head of Education and Knowledge at the not-for-profit organisation Jean Hailes for Women’s Health who put together the study to discuss it further.
