New laws to be introduced as part of an initiative to address unsafe practices within the cosmetic industry

New regulations are being introduced to address issues within the cosmetic industry. In a statement made last Tuesday by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, these regulations target cosmetic procedures, advertising practices and cosmetic brands on social media.
The regulations stem from a review conducted in 2023, initiated after the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency received reports in 2022 regarding unsafe practices in the cosmetic sector for both surgical and non-surgical procedures.
