New Zealand Government Hands Down World-First ‘Wellbeing’ Budget

In a world first yesterday, New Zealand’s labour coalition government unveiled it’s world-first ‘wellbeing’ budget. Aimed at tackling issues of mental health, child poverty and domestic violence, the budget promises to put measures of public wellbeing next to economic figures. Professor Jennifer Curtin, Director of the Public Policy Institute at the University of Auckland joined us on The Daily to discuss the budget.
