Residents of the dust affected New South Wales town of Cadia say Newcrest Mining must to more to assist the community amid reports of dust entering the bloodstream of humans and .affecting its environment
Mining operator Newcrest apologised to residents this week at an inquiry in Sydney after dust pollution from the Cadia Mine in the state’s Central West was impacting the health of residents.
Water samples taken from 10 rainwater tanks near the goldmine showed lead levels above national Drinking Water Safety Guidelines.
Residents have complained of breathing issues due to excessive dust from the mine’s tailings Dams.
