The Ozone Layer is Failing to Repair Itself

The ozone layer has been protecting us for harmful Ultra-Violet radiation for years, and as the years have gone by the ozone layers has been repairing itself. Recently scientists in Zurich have discovered the ozone layer has not been repairing itself at lower altitudes, this has been seen in parts of the country that are heavily populated. Fortunately, scientists in the past have been solve the ozone thinning in the polar regions thanks to the Montreal Protocol, however this treaty has been largely successful because scientists knew why the ozone was thinning. In this case the cause is still unknown. The Daily was joined by Ian Lowe from Griffith University to discuss more on this.
