Pacific Islands Forum on Climate Change in Samoa

The Pacific Islands Forum started this week, a meeting of governments of the pacific region, including Australia. While issues such as illegal fishing and labour mobility will be discussed, climate change is the most substantial issue in this forum. Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Foreign Minister Julie Bishop are hoping for the forum to renew its engagement with the region by strategic partnerships. What does this say about the future of Australia’s involvement in the environmental issues in these neighbouring small states? Dr. Ian McGregor, a Lecturer in Global Climate Change Policy from UTS joined us on the Daily this morning.
