Unpacking the Paladin Deal on Manus Island

There have been so many political scandals in the last fortnight that it’s been hard to keep track.  One scandal that isn’t going away however, is the so-called “Paladin Affair”. Paladin Security was a little-known company that was lifted from obscurity when it was inexplicably granted a government tender to provide security at the Manus Island detention centre. It’s been revealed that the company is charging taxpayers $1600 per person per night to house people on Manus. Tess was joined by Angus Grigg, the National Affairs Correspondent at the Australian Financial Review, who helped lift the lid on this shadowy story.
