International Student Housing and Rent in COVID-19

Being an international student in Australia during 2020 is a tough gig. Accommodation is one of the primary problems they face. However, as they’re still studying, many of these international students have no knowledge or experience of the relevant laws. On top of that, because of COVID-19, many restaurants and shops have had to furlough their employees to stay afloat in the recession. As a result, many international students are stranded with no source of income to pay rent.  Professor Alan Morris, who specialises in urban and housing studies at the Institute of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Technology Sydney, was on the line to shed some light on how COVID-19 particularly affects international students renting in private housing.
