People All Over The World March For Gender Equality

On January 20, the third international Women’s March was held across the world. There were 89 marches worldwide, with four happening in Australia — in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne. The original marches were organised in response to Donald Trump’s 2017 inauguration. 5 million people attended the first march, making it the largest mass political protest in history. 5000 people attended this year’s march at Sydney, causing roads to be shut between Hyde and Belmore Park. With Metoo being dubbed 2018’s word of the year, things might be looking up for gender equality…or are they?

The Daily was joined by Eva Cox, an Australian feminist writer, to discuss what the future holds for men and women alike.
