The Portrayal of Autism on Television

The social stigma surrounding autism is becoming more socially accepted with the condition being diagnosed in children at an earlier onset.

Dealing with the condition by diagnosing the types of behaviour in children such as repetitive behaviour and non verbal communication are helping kids to develop their psychological behaviour, depending on the severity of the condition.

Though how are we perceiving the likes of autism in television? One of the newest characters we have on our screens being Sesame Street’s character, Julia.
