Prison radio

Prison radio – that is, radio stations run internally in prisons by inmates, has been met with growing fanfare in the UK in the past decade. It has proven to be an interesting and effective way for prisoners, staff and guests to discuss issues including rehabilitation and release.

What has its impact been in the UK so far, and could Australia also benefit from a similar initiative? To understand more about how it works and what its impact has been, we’re joined in studio by Dr Charlotte Bedford, a visiting research fellow at the University of Adelaide.
