What does the proposed euthanasia bill in Vic mean for the rest of Aus?

A proposed bill for assisted dying will go before Victorian parliament in 2017, which if passed, could be the first law in Australia to legalise euthanasia since the Northern Territory’s laws were quashed by the Federal government. All MPs will be granted a conscience vote on the matter, which could open up assisted dying to terminally ill Victorian residents as early as 2019. To find out more, we were joined by Ben White, Professor of Law and Director of the Australian Centre for Health Law Research at the Queensland University of Technology.
