Quantum Microscopy

Quantum Physics has tunneled its way into microscopy. By using quantum mechanics, a team of Australian and German researchers have developed a laser microscope that can image delicate biological samples without destroying them in the process – something that their classical wave mechanics-driven counterparts struggled with.

Producer Cameron Furlong spoke with the lead author of the paper and expert on Quantum enhanced microscopy Dr. Casacio from the University of Queensland about this fascinating technology and what it means for the future of microscopy.
