Reading for pleasure: the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter

Today marks twenty years since the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

It has had a profound impact on children and young adults. The Philosopher’s Stone has sold more than 450 million copies to date. With this, it has brought a sense of confidence in reading through J.K Rowling’s unique style of storytelling.

Although today is a celebration of everything magical, we are here to discuss how J.K Rowling’s writing style was criticised for long after her series was complete.
