Red tape around the Aussie Vape

Australia has officially banned vapes.

After several years of discussion on the significance of these controversial nicotine and vapour devices, the TGA has imposed strict import laws. As of a few days ago the importation of nicotine e-cigarettes will be illegal without a prescription, with hefty penalties of up to $222 000 for breaches.

So what are the consequences of this new tough stance on vapes? and if people can’t get their vapes legally, what’s to stop them from going elsewhere?

Founding Chairman of the ‘Australian Tobacco Harm Reduction Association’, Dr Mendelsohn, joined Tina Quinn on The Daily to discuss the significance of this decision from the TGA.
