Relieving Stress with Yoga & Meditation

Our lives are becoming increasingly stressful in today’s world. If not managed in an effective way, ongoing stress has been shown to contribute to the onset of a range of psychological issues; which can include depression and anxiety. As a result more and more people are turning towards yoga and mediation as way to manage their stress levels. But how exactly does it help? Michaela Pascoe, Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Exercise and Mental Health at Victoria University, joined us to talk about how exactly meditation and yoga affects the brain and why it’s important.
