Benita Collings talks #SaveKidsTV

Commercial broadcasters are legally required to air a certain amount of Australian children’s television.

However, the broadcasters recently made submissions to the government, asking to have these quotas abolished so that they can air overseas TV programs more frequently. In response, the #SaveKidsTV campaign was launched to protest the move, gaining widespread support.

Former Play School presenter Benita Collings chatted to Nic about why Australian-made children’s TV is vital to our cultural heritage and the damage caused by too much imported programming.
