Scholarship Still Travelling Close To Home

The 23rd Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship was awarded last week to five Australian painters aged between 20 and 30 years.  Each recipient  receives $10,000 and a two-week residency at Shark Island Kangaroo Valley. Previously the scholarship was $40,000 to one winner who then travelled abroad. COVID forced the prize to rethink to it’s current model, increasing the overall prize money and splitting it between more recipients travelling close to home.

One of the recipients Thea Anamara Perkins joined Breakfast host Willy Russo.
