Senator Rex Patrick looks forward to seeing National Cabinet papers

The win Senator Rex Patrick had in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal has defined the “National Cabinet”  as not “Cabinet” – meaning it is outside the rules of confidentiality afforded to Cabinet meetings.

This would allow a freedom of information request access to National Cabinet, and look at the agreements and discussions that took place there.

The Government could also appeal to the High Court, but currently the grounds look tenuous.
