“Down the toilet”, “when shit hits the fan”, “shit stirrer” and “I don’t give a shit” are among some of the most common, everyday — and maybe Australian — uses of toilet humour in our conversations.

Olivia Rosenman and Helen Rydstrand are The Expressionists, a podcast that’s all about idioms. Currently in its second season, the girls came by to chat with Nic all about idioms relating to our bodily functions in the bathroom.
