Should cancer patients be prescribed more exercise?

In 2018, the estimated number of new cancer cases totaled 138,321, with just more male than female diagnoses. It’s a growing problem, and we could be about to change the way we treat it. Historically, we’ve prescribed cancer patients with bed rest, but apparently exercise could be much better for them. Tess talked to Prue Cormie, Exercise Physiologist and Principal Research Fellow in Exercise Oncology at the Australian Catholic University, about why doctors are deciding to change their tune, the potential benefits, and what kinds of exercise cancer patients could be recommended.
