Should I Pre-drink on Saturday Night?

Australians have a reputation for their relationship with alcohol. From weddings to sports matches, you’ll struggle to find a social gathering that doesn’t have alcohol in one form or another. Raising prices at licensed venues is done to encourage people to drink less. At the same time, pre-drinking has developed into a way to dodge this public health effort.

 

Dr Kim M Caudwell, Lecturer in Psychology within the Faculty of Health at Charles Darwin University and founding member of Researchers in Behavioural Addictions, Alcohol and Drugs (BAAD), joins us this morning to speak on Australia’s pre-drinking culture and the harm that comes with it.
