In this special audio piece recorded on-site at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, artist Juanita McLauchlan walks through her first major state museum exhibition: “yilaa minyaminyabal maaru-ma-lda-y” — translated from Gamilaaray as “soon everything will be healing.”

Based in Wagga Wagga, McLauchlan uses suspended textiles, vintage blankets, natural dyes, and found materials to explore themes of cultural memory, intergenerational connection, and personal healing.

This exhibition places Gamilaaray language and knowledge at the heart of a major public institution, inviting audiences into a space that is both deeply personal and widely resonant.
