Species on the Edge: How many species may vanish before we discover them

Scientists make discoveries of new species every day, which shows that when it comes to understanding life on Earth, we have barely scratched the surface. However, due to human impacts, many species many vanish before we get the chance to discover them. What are the implications and potential impacts of that? Will it be impactful for humans in the future?
