Calls for Database of Indigenous Cultural Sites

New research is calling for a national database of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage sites. The research by Whitlam Institute states that the protection of cultural sites has diminished under subsequent governments after the Whitlam era.

The Wire spoke to Whitlam Research Fellow Professor Hilary du Cros last week about the research but we have a couple more questions for the professor.

Today we ask, how can we balance protecting these sites by using a national database alongside the risk that sites could become damaged after their location is made public?
