In September ‘Freeman’ the ABC documentary about Cathy Freeman’s iconic Olympic victory wowed audiences. It was a documentary celebrating 20 years since the historic Olympic sporting moment.  

Today during NAIDOC week we’re going to discuss a different iconic moment in sporting history. It has almost been 50 years since Evonne Goolagong-Cawley’s landmark win at Wimbledon. To mark the anniversary the theatre show ‘Sunshine Super Girl’ premiered at Griffin Regional Theatre by an all-First Nations cast.

We were joined by Dr Michelle o’Shea, a senior lecturer at the Western Sydney University who interviewed Yorta Yorta/Gunnakurnai playwright and director of ‘Sunshine Super Girl’ by Andrea James.
