Sydney’s Spoken Word Festival

Story-Fest is a unique writers festival dedicated to the art of spoken word and includes a series of forums, workshops, comedy and poetry slams held over five days this October. The festival digs into topics of of diaspora, indigenous issues, African identity body politics and amplifies other marginalised voices.

2ser spoke to the festival’s Creative Director, Miles Merrill about the event, the power of the spoken word and that one time he made 5,000 Indian students ‘wriggle like aliens’.
