Tape/Off’s Hot Takes On The Sunshine State

Coming out of Brisbane, alt-rockers Tape/Off have been dishing out candid societal takes for just over 10 years since the release of their first album Chipper in 2014. Refining the process with 2018’s Broadcast Park, the band have recently put out their most cohesive collection of tracks yet in the form of Fort Sensible, and how! Kicking off with the aptly titled ‘Pixelated Confetti’, Tape/Off celebrate and berate the socio-political constructs of their home town across ten tracks, turning their everyday observations to engaging angsty anthems and anxiety-laced diatribes while background by a dynamic clash of grinding guitars, adrenaline driven rhythms and carefully crafted lyrics that read like the latest chapter in Queensland’s capital city canon. Of course, for safety reasons, they don’t keep the cannon’s loaded, it’s just common sense.

Drummer Branko Cosic take some time out to have a chat on The Band Next Door on 2SER about documenting moments in time, the power of state lines and sticking to their guns.

Fort Sensible is out now through Coolin’ By Sound
